How much traffic does your UU blog get?

I'm doing a bit of informal research as I get ready to help lead two General Assembly workshops this year. (I'll hype them soon, but for the advance planners out there, I'm speaking in back-to-back workshops about the Web on Thursday morning, June 21.) I'd love to know what your Unitarian Universalist-related blog's average daily traffic is.

Feel free to email me — especially if you'd prefer not to publicize your traffic; I won't reveal your numbers unless you give me permission — but you could also post a comment here if you don't mind sharing. Please tell me about "daily unique visitors" or "daily visitors," not page views, just so I can compare roughly similar measurements.

Thanks!

I'm averaging just under 200 daily visitors, according to Google Analytics. (Feedburner says I also average 217 RSS subscribers, many of whom get the full text of my posts without visiting the site.)

For the month of April: average of 63 daily unique visitors, with 106 pageviews. My feedburner feed is around 65 for that time period. I don't send a full text feed (actually, I've tried, but somewhere my settings are still at excerpt) so people have to click through to read.

Also, an extra stat: in April, 15% of my visitors originated from UUpdates.

I don't really mind sharing since, despite the tiny ego jolt I get with my feedburner count going up, I'm not in this for status:) It is interesting, though, that I've seen a 100% increase in subscribers during the past six months. That seems to have come from links outside of the UU community bringing people in (BlueGal, PZ Myers) as well as posting more about politics & religion and less about philosophy--warning to my readers, that will change as I have more time!

unique daily visitors averages 138
don't have feedburner installed, so unsure of rss readers.

I had about 120 unique visitors per day after a year of blogging at the old address, but since changing the blog address, I only have about 30, almost all from uupdates and some writers I know from zoetrope. I used to get a lot from google searches about work, but not any more. Feh. I am glad I changed the address. It's hard to consult in educational publishing with the fear that someone will google you and find something your wrote about God.

My blog gets an average (according to my hosting company) of 361 "unique" visits per day, and 1296 visits per day (on average). I'm not exactly sure how many people are subscribed to my RSS (I don't use Feedburner or a related service), but I'm fairly certain it makes up a large bulk of my audience. For example, I'm syndicated through Livejournal and I have 238 subscribers there, at Bloglines I have 96 subscribers, beyond that I have no idea.

Ms Theologian, have you used Google's website tools to create XML for your site? Check out the tools here to make sure you're getting crawled by search engines. That helped me get a few more hits. (Obviously, not that many...)

Hey, thanks, ck. I appreciate it. I also think I need to be more explicit about using key words like "spirituality" and "workplace" in every post. :) But I'm sure this is something Chris is going to address...I hope he's going to share some of his insights here too post-GA.

With my basic hosting package, it is not easy deciphering the stats. For example, I sometimes have more comments from unique visitors than the stats say that have visited my page. Weird, I know. Maybe I am misunderstanding the lingo. I don't know. But, on days that I actually blog something, I get upwards to around 50 - 60 unique visits. And higher if I make more posts. On days that I don't post, I get 15 to 20.

In the last 30 days, I've averaged about 45 visits per day. On days when I post, I get around 120, and on days when I don't, I get around 30.

I'm not as Google-able as I was when I was hosted on U of C servers, but I don't mind. ;-)

Between 130 and 160 when I've been posting a lot.

Closer to 100 when I haven't.

Up 300 or 350 when something exciting is going on.

In April, 2007, 235.37 unique visitors per day (like I believe accuracy calculated to two decimal places -- Web statistics consists of one part solid fact and two parts hand-waving). 60 RSS feeds towards the end of last month.

Not sure if you are interested in this as well. UUpdates averages 66.71 unique visitors a day. And there is a fairly loyal readership for those who have checked it out. Of the approximately 800 loyal visitors 500+ have been back 200 visits or more. The largest percentage being daily visitors.

None of this takes into account aggregated RSS, not sure how many referrals are sent out through google, firefox, etc.

I don't track my blog.

Not answering your question, but thought you might be interested in this. I just googled: how to get blog traffic. (Working on a project for a friend.) This link (to this page) came up 4th on the list.

Mine is more of a business news blog however...

I get around 75 - 130 per day.
Sometimes up to 200 though if an interesting post is made.

it really is a niche topic so this is about as much as I will ever get:-(

Regards

Peter
