'Unitarian Universalism' got your tongue?
Will Shetterly launches month two at Coffee Hour with an ambitious discussion topic: Does Unitarian Universalism — "eleven syllables, twenty-one letters" of confusion to newcomers and newspaper editors alike — need a new name? Before the merger in 1961 there was talk of getting the Quakers to join with us as well and calling ourselves "The Liberal Church" I still like that.
having grown up a UU remember not being able to pronounce our name, leaving my classmates thinking that I rode a one wheel bicycle on Sunday morning.
