Vote in the third annual UU Blog Awards.

Voting began early this morning in the third annual Unitarian Universalist Blog Awards. I'd like to thank readers who nominated this blog in three categories: Best religious writing or theological commentary (best of class), Best UU-themed blog, and Best writing. You can cast your vote until midnight on Friday, February 2.

Folks, the fans of my very good friends PeaceBang, Chutney, and Dan Harper (among others) are crushing this blog in the voting so far. Is this what you want? Rally, Philocritics, rally!

I voted you for best UU themed blog!

But what does "narrative or anecdote" mean, do you think?

PeaceBang, I'm voting for you! (It's the good ol' mutual appreciation and cancel each other out approach.)

To me, the "best narrative or anecdote" means "best story" -- the blog (or blog entry) that tells the most compelling or engaging story. I invented these clumsy categories three years ago, and was trying to distinguish the analytical, critical, commentary sort of writing from the story-telling sort because it seemed to me that blogs tended to break down into one category or the other. But then genre-defying blogs like Beauty Tips for Ministers showed up. Egads!

I'll be casting my votes this evening.
