Shall we plan a second bloggers' picnic?

Would you believe that it was almost a year ago that we began kicking around ideas for the first-ever Boston-area Unitarian Universalist bloggers picnic? Our planning paid off in a gathering of ten bloggers, plus partners and kids, around a table heaped with food. (Here's the full Coffee Hour report.) Chalicechick and the CSO even trekked all the way from DC!

Picnic05 was held on April 30. Let's start brainstorming Picnic06. (I feel slightly perverse trying to imagine a picnic just after a day of blowing snow here in Boston, but spring is really on its way. So I'm told.)

Where else is there a critical mass of UU bloggers? DC and Atlanta seem to have strength in numbers, but I think the Atlantans all see each other regularly anyway.

We'll definitely gather again at GA. I'm waiting to see more of the schedule before trying to propose meeting times.

Last year, we ended up meeting after the Service of the Living Tradition -- a very late-night meeting. (Here's my report.) I'm hoping we can set up a variety of meeting times that cater to different needs and interests.

FONDUE!!!

Okay, but seriously... since I put out the call for a GA dinner way back when, I have been researching restaurants in St. Louis.

If we have the Boston area picnic, I will bring the new baby. Sadly I will not be in St. Louis! I will check w/ the wife about hosting, but, of course, I cannot vouch for the condition of the house...

Eastern Mass. blogging picnic sounds great. The quicker we can set a date, the more likely I will be able to make it. How about Sat., April 29? Or Saturday, May 6?

Doubt if any of you Bostonians will want to schlep down to New Bedford (60-90 min. drive), but if you do, my partner and I would be happy to host.

I'm in for another Mass. one!

Would prefer May 6 over April 29.

I'd be willing to make the drive for DC and Virginia area, if anyone else is up for it.

I would be interested in joining the picnic group. Perhaps the folks driving from DC can pick me up on the way, here in Philly? Mike

Hey, Either date works for me. Sadly, I would not be a good host, thanks to the baby. However, I will host next year if someone is willing to step up for this...

Is this conversation going on elsewhere, or did it sort of peter out?

We'll revive the planning soon. Last year we planned in fits and starts, and I suspect it will go that way again.

Now that back in the Boston area, I'm psyched! I don't think I have any plans that far out at this point, assuming I'm not travelling for work (which I can't predict that far out anyway...*sigh*)

How about May 13? (I have another obligation on April 29 and Mrs P needs the car on May 6 -- and I'm preaching one of my rare guest sermons on May 7 -- which makes that a complicated weekend.)
