We interrupt this program...

I'm at work, but I'm also aware of the spam attack on this site last night. The guilty IP is 212.21.228.22 — which you'll want to ban from your Movable Type site, too. It will take a while to strip all the comments, so feel free to add your sympathetic comments to this message and push the spam off my front page. (And, yes, downtown Boston is a zoo right now.)

Hmmm ... Washington is usually only a zoo during the IMFBowl. Or the WorldBankBowl.

The duck boats have arrived, the Park Street Church bells are ringing, the good people of Boston are beside themselves with joy, people are streaming across Boston Common and over Beacon Hill toward City Hall Plaza, and pigeons are gorging themselves on leftover french fries. Incongruously, "Yankees Suck" banners are hanging from the tops of buildings and from apartment balconies along Tremont Street. It is, as they say, "wicked pissah." And I have a splendid view.

Condolences, Chris! You certainly don't want your drug interests blaring out through those recent comments.

I find the helicopters buzzing around to be far more annoying than the crowds that were cheering since early this morning.

Whew! The spam is gone. Any good ideas on things I should do to avoid spam in the comments in the future?

Upgrade to MT 2.661. There are a number of features there that will help quell spam invasions. MT-Blacklist is also a good measure.

Thanks, Chris. We're now running MT 2.661 and I've installed and turned MT-Blacklist on.
