Secretary Ridge comments on the detention of asylum seekers. ... Amnesty International condemns the detentions. ... The FBI makes a distinction between detained asylum seekers and foreign nationals already in the country, and says "there are no plans for the mass detention of Iraqi nationals in the United States in the event of war."
